She said it felt as furry as a puppy. Grateful for the parallel, I suggested she could just pretend it was, another golden opportunity for me to put off the "can we buy a dog?" question. Holding it gently to her cheek she lost herself in her imagination, petting it softly and whispering sweet nothings in it's ear.
Another daughter smiled as we observed the analogy in action. Ruminating about this inside her own active mind she found another similarity: "And mama's like the core of the peach! She's what holds all us children together!"
