Ever had one of those weeks that started out amazing and by the end you were fit to be tied and frazzled as all get out? Yeah, one of those weeks for me. And guess what? The weekends are looking just as busy so it looks like I won't be celebrating my sabbath rest until the eighth day...
Love Story in 22 Pictures: I know you've seen the pictures - handsome Navy soldier who loses his legs, an arm, and both hands and races to recovery with the support of his long-time girlfriend every step of the way. Now you can read his story and learn more about the tremendous courage and discipline that has propelled Taylor Morris to a continuation of his journey and a love story for the ages.
Soup, There It Is: To my Canadian friends, Target is like an urban legend of epic proportions. They've heard the hype but haven't yet made their pilgrimage to what is, for many of us displaced Americans, our holy land. When I saw that Target was carrying limited edition Andy Warhol Campbell soup cans, I jumped in the truck and made a run for the border until I realized I wouldn't be back in time for dinner. I reluctantly turned around and instead begged my mom to bring me some for my birthday. Please, mom?
Mujer: As much as I believe in being a role (super)model for my girls, I also believe in introducing them to woman who are living well. Heroes from the past are invaluable but so too are vivid examples from the here and now whose lives reassure us that we can live a counter culture life even while engaging the culture as we change the world. Kat Harris shares this appreciation of strong women and her words speak my heart...
"If you have known me for any amount of time, then you know that I believe in the power of story...When you meet someone who is grounded in their identity there is something so peaceful and freeing about being around them. When a woman is free to be who she really is; it gives the people around her the permission to be freely and wholly who they are created to be. When you are around women like this; it’s not only freeing it’s contagious."
Kat's Mujer project is like my Worthy Women, a spotlight on incredible women. I loved this one on Natalie Warne who doesn't just dream about changing the world, at only 22 she already is.
Emerson Made: My new fall wardrobe of deliciously classic yet modern pieces? It's on it's way. Oh, yes. I have full confidence that I am already the winner for EFry's $2500 fall giveaway. But if you win? You'll send me a thank you card with my half of the 25 thou, right?
