It has long been my sanctuary and one she has come to borrow for herself. Cocooned between three walls, solitude beckons as it ushers her in to the watery folds of its embrace. The warmth melts away every chill, the water washing away the worries and salty tear-stains on rosy cheeks.
This is a brave new world, one malleable to the limits of imagination. Never before sung melodies echo here, her normal identity morphs into new ones in cadence with the flickering reflections above wrinkled tips.
Imaginary friends take on realistic form in bubbles and shaped cloths. She is alone but never lonely.
And the world becomes as it should be, if just for moments.
